Method principle and technological evolution

After the sample and alkaline flux were melted at 1000℃, the following were determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES):

  1. Alkaline melting decomposes the silicate matrix
  2. Acid dissolution forms a homogeneous solution
  3. Characteristic spectral lines excited by elements in the plasma torch
Compared with the traditional acid hydrolysis method, this method significantly improves the recovery rate of the insoluble elements.
