This standard specifies two technical indicator systems, namely the geometric accuracy and working accuracy of the woodworking single-head straight tenon mortising machine, and is applicable to the quality control of special equipment for hardwood tenon processing.

Implementation points

Geometric accuracy control

Before inspection, the machine tool installation level must be adjusted with a spirit level. The longitudinal/lateral readings must not exceed 0.10/1000. Pay special attention to the G4 tool axis runout test:

  • Saw axis radial runout ≤0.03mm
  • Vertical tool axis end face runout ≤0.02mm

Working accuracy verification

The test piece should be made of hard miscellaneous wood with a moisture content of ≤15%. When processing double tenons, the following must be ensured:

  • Tenon width 8-20mm
  • Tenon length 100mm
  • Shoulder end face verticality ≤0.10/100

Technology evolution analysis

Compared with the 1982 version of the standard, the main improvements of the 92 version include:

  1. Add straightness detection in the diagonal direction of the worktable
  2. Refine the accuracy requirements of different tool axes (horizontal/vertical/center slot)
  3. Specify environmental control parameters such as moisture content of the specimen
  4. Introduce JB 4171 as the basic testing specification

Maintenance recommendations

Daily monitoring should focus on:

  • Check guide rail straightness (G2 item) every week
  • Check tool shaft radial runout every 500 hours
  • After replacing the tool, the P1 working accuracy must be recalibrated
