Scope

This standard specifies the welding procedure qualification rules, test methods and qualification indicators for steel pressure vessels. This standard is applicable to the welding process qualification of gas welding, hand arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, electroslag welding, and corrosion-resistant layer surfacing of steel pressure vessels.
