Scope

This standard specifies the materials and specifications of steel foil used in the carbon potential determination method of steel foil, the basic requirements for steel foil carburizing equipment and its operating procedures, and the measurement method of carbon content after carburization of steel foil. This standard is applicable to the measurement of carbon potential in gas carburizing atmospheres, and can be used for the calibration of other carbon potential measurement methods and the calibration of carbon potential control instruments.
