1 Scope

This standard specifies the expression method for model designation, model codes, driving mode codes, connection type codes, structure type codes, sealing material codes, valve body material codes and pressure codes of general purpose valves.
This standard is applicable to the model designation of general purpose gate valves, stop valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, diaphragm valves, plug valves, check valves, safety valves, pressure relief valves, automatic steam traps, drainage valves and plunger valves.
