1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principle, apparatus and instruments, test procedures and result calculation regarding the test method for evaluating aging behavior of tetragonal zirconia polycrystallines.

This standard is applicable to tetragonal zirconia polycrystallines.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1
aging behavior Vm-75
degree of transition from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase in tetragonal zirconia polycrystallines occurred when placed at a temperature of 75°C and a relative humidity of 95% for 168h

3.2
accelerated aging behavior Vm-200
degree of transition from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase of tetragonal zirconia polycrystallines occurred when placed at a temperature of 200°C under atmospheric water vapor flow for 24h

4 Principle

After the tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline samples were placed under certain temperature and humidity conditions for a period of time, the surface phase content was measured with an X-ray diffractometer, and the monoclinic phase volume fraction was used as a measure of the aging behavior.
