Scope
This standard specifies the procedures for determining the characteristic frequency and attenuation factor of motor vehicle disc brake pads. This standard applies to disc brake blocks with frequencies from 500Hz to 16000Hz. The parameters measured in this standard are defined as the first three characteristic frequencies, fn (n=1, 2, 3), and the corresponding attenuation factor eta.
