Scope

This standard specifies the short beam method for determining the interlaminar shear strength of fiber-reinforced plastics. This standard applies to thermosetting or thermoplastic fiber-reinforced plastics that are capable of interlaminar shear failure. This standard is not suitable for determining design parameters, but may be used for screening materials or as a test for quality control.
