Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of portable hedge trimmers (hereinafter referred to as "hedge trimmers"), gives the basic parameters of hedge trimmers, specifies the performance requirements and markings, operating instructions, packaging, transportation, storage and handling requirements of hedge trimmers, and describes the corresponding test methods and product model compilation methods. This document applies to the design, development, production and testing of the following hedge trimmers:
　——Hedge trimmers with lithium-ion batteries as the power source and a nominal voltage not exceeding 75V (hereinafter referred to as "lithium-ion hedge trimmers");
　——Single-phase AC hedge trimmers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V (hereinafter referred to as "AC hedge trimmers");
　——Hedge trimmers with gasoline engines as the power source and a displacement not exceeding 80 cm3 (hereinafter referred to as "gasoline hedge trimmers"). Note: "Electric hedge trimmers" in this document are a general term for "lithium-ion hedge trimmers" and "AC hedge trimmers". This document does not apply to:
　——Backpack gasoline hedge trimmers;
　——Hedge trimmers with rotating blades; Pole hedge trimmers with a maximum length greater than 3.5m. Note: For the measurement of the length of pole hedge trimmers, see 21.101 of GB/T3883.402-2023.
