Scope

This standard specifies the basic technical performance and business requirements for satellite communications airborne earth stations in the aeronautical mobile service, as well as technical requirements that are only recommended for use (expressed as "recommendations" in the text). This standard applies to aeronautical mobile service satellite communications airborne earth stations. It is not only suitable for domestic aeronautical mobile service satellite communication systems, but also for airborne earth stations added to the international aeronautical mobile service satellite communication network. The communication services and functions provided by the airborne earth station can be selected by the owner of the airborne earth station, but they should comply with this standard. This standard applies to the selection, equipment, operation and technical transformation of airborne earth stations. This standard applies to data services and telephone services of aeronautical mobile service satellite communications.
