Analysis of the core content of the standard

MH/T 6129-2024 is the industry standard for aviation engine emissions measurement issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It systematically regulates the full-factor measurement system including smoke, gaseous emissions (CO/HC/NOx) and non-volatile particulate matter (nvPM) for the first time.

Innovation in measurement method

1. Non-volatile particulate measurement

The standard clearly adopts the volatile particulate remover (VPR) system for the first time, requiring the electromigration diameter (Dm) classification measurement of particles that are not volatilized when heated at 350℃, and the geometric standard deviation σg must be controlled within 1.8.

2. Special treatment for afterburner

For engines with afterburner, it is stipulated that the sampling plane should be 18-25 times the diameter of the nozzle, and the 13-point grid method should be used to obtain representative samples to avoid interference from chemical reactions.


Implementation Recommendations

  1. Laboratory Accreditation: Must be accredited by ISO/IEC 17025, with calibration traceable to the International System of Units
  2. Fuel Control: The test fuel must meet the requirement of aromatic content ≤25% in Appendix A
  3. Data Correction: Correction factor for altitude and humidity effects K= (PBref/PB)a×exp(TBref-TB/c)
