Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the oxidation induction period of lubricating oil using a pressure differential scanning calorimeter (PDSC). 1.2 The oxidation induction period measured under the conditions specified in this standard is used to characterize the ability of lubricating oil to resis oxidation and deposit formation. 1.3 This standard uses the International System of Units [SI] units.
