Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the content of calcium, chlorine, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur and zinc in lubricating oils and additives using wavelength dis ersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of calcium, chlorine, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur and zinc content in lubricating oils, additives and complexes. When the element concentration in the sample exceeds the upper limit of the standard curve, it can be diluted before detection.
