Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
As a programmatic document for a series of guidelines, this standard establishes a four-dimensional framework for fire protection assessment of power equipment: hazard identification (Chapter 4), test principles (Chapter 5), test classification (Chapter 6) and equipment applicability (Chapter 7). Special emphasis is placed on special assessment requirements for key equipment such as oil-immersed transformers and dry-type reactors.
Fire hazard classification system
| Hazard level | Ignition source type | Typical equipment | Protective measures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level I | Arc/short-circuit current | Transformer, switchgear | Strengthen insulation monitoring |
| Level II | Overheating/heat dissipation failure | Reactor, capacitor | Temperature early warning system |
| Level III | Ignition from external fire source | Cable, battery | Application of flame retardant materials |
Technology evolution background
This standard integrates the dual technical systems of GB/T 5169.1 and ISO 13943:2017, and establishes a special fire protection terminology library for power for the first time. Compared with the old version of XX/T standard, new assessment requirements for new equipment such as converter valve shunt reactor are added to reflect the development needs of new energy power grid.
Application case: Transformer fire risk assessment
When a 500kV substation used Article 4.7 of this standard to assess the oil-immersed transformer, it was found that there was an arc ignition risk at the bushing connection. By installing an infrared temperature measurement system and a pressure relief valve, the fire hazard level can be reduced from Level I to Level II.
Implementation recommendations
- Equipment selection stage: Give priority to certified products that have passed the full test in Chapter 6 of this standard
- Operation and maintenance monitoring focus: Establish a three-level warning index based on the hazard sources in Chapter 4
- Emergency treatment: Develop a differentiated fire extinguishing plan with reference to the test data in Chapter 5
Standard extension application
This document provides a top-level design of test methods for the subsequent 8 special standards (including cables, batteries, etc.). It is recommended to be used in conjunction with the GB/T 5169 series of standards to build a complete electrical fire protection assessment system.
