1 Scope
This standard specifies test items, requirements, procedure, and evaluation method of storage test for solid rocket motors (hereinafter referred to as “motors”).
This standard applies to the storage test of strategic and tactical missile motors, and may apply to other types of motors.

The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding any corrigendum), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the latest editions of the standards indicated below. 3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in GJB 3387 and the followings apply.
3.1
specified useful period
maximum time interval from the completion of delivery to flight use of the motor as specified in the contract or terms of reference (TOR)
3.2
storage period
longest storage time for the product under the specified conditions, over which all the quality characteristics are maintained satisfactory with the TOR requirements
3.3
test for over specified storage period
test with the storage period exceeding the specified useful period
