Introduction

Standard Framework and Technological Evolution

QX/T 458-2018, a key standard for the meteorological information service regulatory system, inherits and develops the classification system of QX/T 102-2009 and the naming conventions of QX/T 129-2011. It establishes a unified submission framework for 11 types of detection data, including those from ground-based meteorological stations and radar. Together with the 2017 "Measures for the Administration of Submission of Meteorological Detection Data," this framework forms a dual guarantee mechanism of "technical standards + administrative regulations."

Analysis of Core Elements

4.1 Data Classification System

The 11-category coding system established in Appendix A, including SURF (surface) and UPAR (upper air), requires special attention:

  • Scientific Experiment Data (SCEX) must indicate the project number
  • GNSS sounding data is classified as UPAR
  • Derivative data must be marked with the original data source

5.2 Special Requirements for Electronic Files

The naming of electronic files follows the "Z_RADI_I_58321_20160506120000_O.TXT" structure, where:

Typical Case: Naming analysis of data files from a radiation station in Hefei, Anhui Province:

Z_RADI_I_58321_20160506120000_O_340120160001_PQC_CCA.TXT

  • PQC stands for quality control identification
  • CCA stands for the first correction report

Implementation difficulties and countermeasures

Metadata reporting strategy

For the metadata template in Appendix B, it is recommended that:

  1. Establish a metadata automatic extraction tool to obtain equipment information from the automatic weather station log
  2. Historical evolution data (Appendix C) adopts an incremental update mechanism

Key points for the implementation of the dual-track system

Data consistency is required for 5 related forms:

  • Table E.1 (Content List) → Table E.4 (Acceptance List)
  • Table E.3 (Protection Application) → Table E.5 (Certificate)
