As the third part of the deepwater cage series standards, this standard systematically regulates the technical system of cables, mainly including:

  • 5 types of material systems: performance matrix of PE/PP/PA/PET/UHMWPE ropes
  • 4 structural types: 3-strand twisted rope (type A), 4-strand twisted rope (type B), 8-strand braided rope (type L), 12-strand braided rope (type T)
  • Full life cycle management: technical requirements from production inspection to transportation and storage

The standard innovatively adopts a six-segment coding system:
Fiber rope SC/T 4048.3-[structure code]-[diameter]-[material]-[heat treatment type]

Key test requirements

  • Breaking strength test must be carried out in a dry new state
  • The test value in the splicing area is allowed to be reduced by 10%
  • Sampling formula: Ns=0.4×√N (N is the total number of rolls of 220m/roll)

  1. Added ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) material system
  2. Refine the indicators of the impact of heat treatment process on performance
