Introduction

Interpretation of the core content of the standard

SC/T 8317-2025 establishes a standardized maintenance process including 8 key processes: from certificate verification → unpacking inspection → system maintenance → verification test → packaging and archiving, forming a closed-loop quality management system. The standard particularly emphasizes the two core indicators of throwable inflatable life raft: airtightness maintenance and integrity of emergency functions.

Comparison of key technical requirements

Maintenance items Old version requirements 2025 version new regulations
Float tire repair standard Damage area ≤100cm² ≤150cm² and length ≤80cm
Cylinder gas volume deviation Allow ±30g Negative deviation ≤20g
Safety valve test Visual inspection Neutral soap solution sealing test

Detailed explanation of key maintenance items

1. Maintenance of the charging system

The standard requires a six-step inspection of the quick release valve: including water corrosion inspection, safety device integrity verification, shaft core striker deformation inspection, etc. When inspecting the cylinder, an electronic scale with a graduation value of ≤5g should be used to weigh the gas to ensure that the CO₂/N₂ mixing ratio meets the original manufacturer's requirements.

2. Verification test system

Establish a four-level test system:

  • WP air tightness test: pressure drop of ≤5% in 1 hour
  • GI inflation test: inflation and molding are completed within 1 minute
  • NAP additional pressure test: 2 times the working pressure is maintained for 5 minutes
  • FS raft bottom strength test: 82.5kg dynamic load test

Implementation suggestions

Maintenance cycle management

It is recommended to establish a dual-track archive system: paper maintenance records (kept for 5 years) and electronic ledgers are maintained simultaneously. For life rafts with a 25-year service life, the full set of GI+NAP+FS tests must be performed in the 10th/15th/20th/25th year.

Common Problem Solving

When the canopy column safety valve is found to be leaking, the following should be checked first: ① The debonding condition of the valve body joint ② The rust condition of the spring ③ The aging degree of the rubber seal. The standard clearly stipulates that only 1 bubble is allowed to appear within 5 minutes during the sealing test.
