Introduction
Standard Background and Scope of Application
SC/T 9604-2018 was proposed by the Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and was managed by the National Technical Committee for Aquatic Products Standardization. It was officially implemented on September 1, 2018. This standard applies to the full cycle management of artificial breeding of sea turtles, including key links such as source legality verification, breeding environment construction, and daily breeding specifications.

Guangdong Huidong National Sea Turtle Nature Reserve adopts the stepped pool design recommended by the standard, achieves the 30% shading area requirement through an adjustable shading system, and cooperates with automatic temperature control devices to maintain a constant temperature environment in the spawning ground.
2. Water quality management specifications
The standard clearly requires the control range of water quality parameters:
- Salinity: 32-35‰
- pH: 7.5-8.5
- Escherichia coli: <1000CFU/100mL
12 indicators such as dissolved oxygen and ammonia nitrogen need to be tested every week (see Appendix A for details). It is recommended to adopt a closed-loop life support system specified in SC/T 6073, including:
- Protein skimmer
- Biological filtration unit
- Ultraviolet disinfection device
