Scope

This standard specifies the use of an automatic vapor pressure measuring instrument to measure the vapor pressure generated in vacuum by volatile liquid petroleum products, hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon-oxygenated compound mixtures. This standard is applicable to samples with a boiling point higher than 0°C and a vapor pressure of 37.8°C at a gas-to-liquid ratio of 4:1 between 7kPa and 150kPa. The sample volume required for measurement is 1mL to 1OmL. The vapor pressure (VPx) value measured in this standard for gasoline with a gas-to-liquid ratio of 4:1 and gasoline containing oxygenated compounds at 37.8°C can be converted into the dry vapor pressure equivalent value (DVPE) obtained by the ASIM D 5191 method. This standard uses SI units. This standard does not make recommendations on all safety issues involved. Therefore, before using this standard, users must establish appropriate safety and protection measures and develop corresponding management systems.
