1. Application conditions

The applicable conditions of different types of sprinklers are significantly different:

  • Slope limit: ≤20‰ for reel-type longitudinal, ≤5‰ for translational type
  • Wind speed requirement: The upper limit of operating wind speed is 5.4m/s (except windproof sprinkler heads)
  • Crop height: Needs to be lower than the ground clearance of the sprinkler truck (usually ≥1.5m)

2. Key parameters for system planning

Case: When the center pivot sprinkler is used in the winter wheat irrigation project in the North China Plain:

  1. According to the characteristics of sandy loam soil, the allowable sprinkler irrigation intensity is 15mm/h
