Scope

1.0.1 This standard is formulated to standardize the safety monitoring of concrete dams, grasp the operating performance of the dam, guide the construction and operation of the project, provide feedback on the design, and reduce the risk of the dam. 1.0.2 This standard is applicable to the safety monitoring of level 1, level 2, level 3, and level 4 concrete dams in the classification and design standards of water conservancy and hydropower projects. Level 5 concrete dams can be implemented as a reference. 1.0.3 The safety monitoring scope of concrete dams should include the dam body, dam foundation, dam abutment, bank slope near the dam that has a significant impact on dam safety, and other buildings and equipment that are directly related to dam safety. 1.0.4 Safety monitoring methods should include on-site inspection and instrument monitoring. 1.0.5 Safety monitoring should follow the following principles: 1. The monitoring layout should be based on the scale and level of the project, and combined with the actual project and upstream and downstream impacts; the relevant monitoring items should be coordinated with the layout, highlighting key points, taking into account all aspects, and taking into account numerical calculations and Comparison and verification of model tests. Measuring points in key parts should be set redundantly. 2 Monitoring instruments and equipment should be reliable, durable and practical, with technical performance indicators meeting specifications and engineering requirements, and strive to be advanced and facilitate automated monitoring. 3 Monitoring instruments should be installed according to design requirements. On the premise of reducing the impact on the construction of the main project, the monitoring facilities should be installed, buried and protected in a timely manner; during the construction of the main project, necessary time and space should be provided for the installation, burial and monitoring of instruments and facilities; the initial reading of the monitoring instruments should be done in a timely manner , and fill in the verification form, draw as-built drawings, and file them for future reference. 4 Monitoring should meet the procedures, specifications and design requirements, and relevant monitoring items should be monitored synchronously; when abnormal measurement values are found, retest immediately; the monitoring data should be continuous, true in records, complete in notes, and compiled and analyzed in a timely manner. 5. Monitoring facilities should be inspected, maintained and appraised regularly. Monitoring facilities should be updated and renovated if they do not meet the requirements. Measuring and reading instruments should be checked or calibrated regularly. 6. When an existing dam is undergoing risk removal and reinforcement, reconstruction (expansion), or monitoring facilities are being updated, the original monitoring facilities should be identified. 7 Temporary monitoring facilities can be set up if necessary. Temporary monitoring facilities and permanent monitoring facilities should be
