Scope

This standard specifies the procedures and requirements for the management of reference materials in inspection and quarantine laboratories. This standard applies to the management of reference materials for calibrating measuring devices, evaluating measuring methods, or assigning values to materials in inspection and quarantine laboratories. Pure metals, chromatographic pure reagents and internal control samples used to prepare standard materials can also be managed with reference to this standard. This standard does not apply to certain reference materials that have special management requirements. When the laboratory conducts new method design/development, etc., some provisions do not apply.
