Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, calibration equipment and calibration methods for moving coil velocity detectors or strings (hereinafter referred to as moving coil detectors) and piezoelectric detectors. This standard applies to geophones used in petroleum seismic exploration and production, and other geophones used in exploration may be implemented by reference.
