Scope

This standard specifies the ordering, materials, manufacturing, technical requirements, testing, marking and documentation of carbon steel and low alloy steel coiled tubing for oil and gas wells with a length of not less than 61m (200ft). The steel grades of coiled tubing in this standard include CT70, CT80, CT90, CT100 and CT110. For the technical conditions of coiled tubing for hydrogen sulfide (HS) environment, it shall be agreed separately with reference to this standard. In the dimension table of this standard (see Appendix A), the specifications of coiled tubing are expressed by outer diameter, accurate to one decimal place (USC accurate to three decimal places). The outer diameter size ranges from 19.1mm (0.750in) to 88.9mm (3.500in). This standard adopts the International System of Units. The corresponding USC unit values are given in brackets in the text and in the table. The rounding provisions and unit conversion factors are shown in Appendix B.
