Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and methods for valve fire resistance testing to verify the pressure-bearing performance of the valve during or after the fire resistance test. This standard does not apply to fire resistance testing of valve actuation devices other than manual gearboxes or similar devices in standard valve assembly components. Such driving devices (such as electric devices, pneumatic devices, or hydraulic devices) should have special protection measures during the test.
