Scope

This standard provides a high level of overall security protection recommended practices for oil and gas pipeline monitoring and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. A more detailed summary and technical guidance are provided in the appendix. In addition to the main text and the relevant information, a set of standardized security protection operation methods can be formulated. Due to the complexity of the SCADA system, the improvement of the network security protection performance of the pipeline SCADA system is not a simple process or a one-time event, but a continuous process. It may take several years to properly implement the entire process according to this standard. In addition, the SCADA system upgrade can refer to this standard, and the security protection measures recommended by this standard can be used as a built-in application of the new system to improve the security of the entire system.
