1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings and the like of high manganese steel frogs (hereafter referred to as frogs) for railroad turnout.
This standard is applicable to high manganese steel casted frogs for railway as well as high manganese steel frogs and other high manganese steel castings indicated to use this standard.
