1. Definition of Monitoring Indicators

The standard clearly defines that effective insect sticky paper must meet the following requirements: ① It sticks to bed bugs; ② It is a blank sticky paper that is not damaged or moved. Bed bug traces include biological traces such as dead insects, molting skins, eggs and feces.

Implementation suggestions

1. Operation specifications

  • The visual inspection method should focus on checking high-risk areas for bed bug breeding, such as gaps in bed frames and joints of furniture
  • When placing sticky traps, ensure that four corners are positioned (one at each corner of the bed/sofa)

2. Data Recording

It is recommended to use the Table A.1 (visual inspection method) and Table A.2 (sticky trap method) formats provided in the standard appendix, and record the following:

  1. Monitoring time/location/personnel
  2. Effective monitoring area conversion (>15㎡ requires segmented calculation)
  3. Insect stage classification and counting (adults/nymphs/eggs)

Standard Evolution Analysis

This standard for the first time includes Bed bug monitoring is separated from the integrated vector standard. The innovations include:
