Scope

This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in mainstream cigarette smoke. This standard is applicable to the determination of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in mainstream cigarette smoke. The quantitation limits of this method for determining ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in mainstream cigarette smoke are 0.10 μg/cig and 23.1 ng/cig respectively, and the detection limits are 0.029 μg/cig and 6.9 ng/cig respectively.
