Scope
This Standard specifies the functional profile of the basic standards ISO/IEC 7776, ISO/IEC 8208 and ISO/IEC 8885 for the provision of low-level telematics services when operating over ISDN. Terminal selection procedures are also noted in relation to certain telematics services that use different protocols than above. For example, the transmission of Class III document faxes on ISDN. This standard applies to non-voice communication terminals on ISDN, such as G4, G3C, G3F and video and text, etc. This standard provides the call connection procedures for the above terminals to access ISDN and the lower three layer communication procedures related to the network.
