Introduction
The Standard for Rock and Soil Engineering Investigation of Red Mud Pile Field, designated as YS/T 5231-2024, was published by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Engineering Construction Standards Administration on July 19, 2024. This standard aims to provide guidelines for the investigation of rock and soil engineering conditions at sites intended for red mud storage piles. It sets out methodologies for assessing site stability, environmental impact, and safety considerations essential for the design and construction phases of such facilities. The implementation of this standard begins on January 1, 2025.
