Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for sterile, single-use hard-shell blood reservoirs, venous blood storage systems (with or without filters) and soft venous blood storage bags for cardiopulmonary bypass surgery intended for cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. (CPB) to store blood for use. This standard only applies to blood storage in multifunctional systems, which may have integral components, such as blood gas exchangers (oxygenators), blood filters, bubble removers, blood pumps, etc.
