1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions as well as requirements and test methods of the medical foot switch.

This standard is applicable to foot switch serving as control circuit device for medical electrical equipment. The application scope of this standard does not cover the pneumatic and hydraulic foot switches.

Note: for the foot switches not covered by the application scope of this standard, the relevant provisions of this standard still also are made reference to.
