1. Material requirements

The standard strictly distinguishes the material standards of U-ring/O-ring (25# steel or 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 stainless steel) and base plate (Q235B or equivalent stainless steel), among which:

  1. Ballast tanks should preferably use N series stainless steel eye ring (such as A2.0N)
  2. It is recommended to use hot-dip galvanizing + shop primer double protection (film thickness ≥145μm) for open-air areas
  3. Triangular eye ring is suitable for lateral force scenarios (such as lifeboat racks)

Key to quality control

  • Weld inspection: X-type grooves require 100% magnetic particle inspection
  • Dimension tolerance: focus on controlling the flatness of the bottom plate (≤2mm/m)
