Introduction

Standard Overview

CJ/T 463-2014 specifies the technical requirements and test methods for thin-wall stainless steel socket-and-spigot compression fittings, which are applicable to gas systems with a working pressure of ≤0.8MPa and water supply systems with a working pressure of ≤3.0MPa.

Typical pipe fitting types

90° elbow: 12 specifications from DN15 to DN200, the difference between A and B type structures is mainly reflected in the length of the socket (the shortest is 58mm for 工 series, and the longest is 448mm for 工 series)

Reducing tee: The maximum diameter reduction ratio is DN200×DN150, and the connection part needs to pass the 3.0MPa vibration test (1 million times)


Technology evolution analysis

Compared with the early compression connection, the socket-and-spigot compression technology proposed in this standard has the following advantages:

  1. Higher sealing reliability (passed 2500 hot and cold cycle tests)
  2. Better seismic performance (amplitude ±2.5mm vibration test)
  3. Simplified installation process (single hydraulic forming)

Implementation suggestions

1. Priority should be given to 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 materials for highly corrosive environments

2. Acid pickling and passivation treatment must be performed before installation (see Appendix C heat treatment process)

3. The gas system should be additionally tested for 1.05MPa air tightness
