Introduction
Standard Overview
CY/T 122-2015 is my country's first industry standard specifically for academic publishing citation norms, issued and implemented by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television in 2015. The standard establishes the basic principles and technical requirements for citation processing in publications such as academic monographs and journal articles.
Core terminology definitions
| Terminology | Definition | Application scenarios |
|---|---|---|
| Inline citations | Citations embedded in the text | Keyword citations, short sentence citations |
| Inline citations | Independent paragraph citations | Long paragraphs, letters, poems |
| Quotation paragraphs | Citations with more than 3 lines | Literature reviews, theoretical citations |
Citation format specifications
1. Technical requirements for inline citations
- Keyword citation: Use double quotes, such as "和和的情况"
- Original citation: Short sentences ≤50 words must be fully marked with quotes
- Original citation: No quotes but the scholar and document source must be indicated
2. Line citation format requirements
Example (Historical Document Quotation):
Lü Gong said in "Answering the Imperial Edict":
I heard Confucius say: "The reason why Heaven has glory is to remove filth..."
Today, the people are uneasy at work, and the young and strong sigh...
Technical points: Indent 2 characters as a whole, leave blank lines above and below, no quotes
Special processing rules
Omitted mark specifications
| Omission type | Identification method | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Partial omission | Use standard ellipsis (……) | "ethnic group...subcultural group" |
| Paragraph omission | Double ellipsis + square brackets | [……]Subsequent content |
| Original text omission | Retain original ellipsis + [ ] marking | Gunfire...[……]Ransom |
Annotation system requirements
- Source note: The source of the document must be marked (author + publication year)
- Insert note: Use square brackets [] to enclose additional information
- Format unification: The same annotation style is used throughout the manuscript
Implementation suggestions
Optimization of academic monograph editing process:
1. Establish a citation format checklist
2. Use document management software for unified annotation
3. Specially check the indentation and omission marks of citations in the final review stage
This standard is used in conjunction with GB/T 15834 "Use of Punctuation Marks". It is recommended to combine the "Chicago Manual" and other international standards for citation processing of cross-cultural publications.
