CY/T 228-2020 has for the first time formulated systematic green environmental protection requirements for offset rubber blanket, focusing on the control of 7 types of hazardous substances:

Technology evolution analysis
Compared with the traditional offset blanket standard GB/T 33248-2016, the innovations of this standard are:
- Additional volatile organic compound control: For the first time, a single indicator of benzene series (≤0.6 mg/m²) is stipulated
- Introduction of dynamic detection method: A small environmental chamber is used to simulate actual use conditions to detect TVOC
- Strengthen traceability: require sample packaging to be labeled with complete production information
Implementation difficulties and solutions
Case: Dealing with a problem of excessive TVOC in a certain enterprise
Testing found that a certain model of offset rubber blanket released TVOC of 1.2 mg/m²·h, and the standard was met through the following measures:
- Replace the rubber compound formula and use water-based cross-linking agent instead of solvent-based additives
- Add a 40℃ pre-bake process to accelerate the volatilization of low molecular weight substances
- Improve packaging materials and use aluminum foil composite barrier film
Compliance recommendations
Enterprises should pay special attention to the following when implementing this standard:
- Raw material control: Establish a banned list of phthalate plasticizers
- Process optimization: Increasing the vulcanization temperature to above 150°C can reduce free formaldehyde
- Detection points: Samples need to be tested after balancing in a constant temperature and humidity environment for 24 hours
