Introduction

Standard Background and Positioning

DB/T77-2018, a technical standard for the seismic industry, systematically establishes a methodology for earthquake intensity assessment based on remote sensing imagery for the first time. This standard complements GB/T17742-2008, "China Earthquake Intensity Scale," and GB/T18208.3-2011, "Seismic Field Work Part 3: Investigation Specification," and together they strengthen my country's earthquake hazard assessment technology pipeline.

Core Technology Innovation

Technical Dimension Traditional Method This Standard Method
Data Source Mainly Field Investigation Remote Sensing + Field Verification
Evaluation Efficiency More than 72 hours Preliminary evaluation within 24 hours
Spatial Accuracy 1km² 0.01km²

Key Technical Indicators

Intensity Conversion Model

The standard proposes intensity-disaster index conversion formulas for three typical areas:

  • Plain area: DG=1.146×DR0.457+0.18
  • Hillary area: DG=1.146×DR0.457+0.12
  • High intensity area: DG=0.851×DR0.307+0.05

Implementation and application suggestions

  1. Data Fusion: It is recommended to combine high-resolution satellite imagery with drone aerial data.
  2. Time Limitation: For earthquakes with a magnitude of M ≥ 7.0, preliminary assessments should be completed within 48 hours.
  3. Verification Mechanism: Remote sensing interpretation results must be verified by ≥ 15% on-site sampling.

Standard Evolution Analysis

This standard's technical approach was validated in the 2013 Lushan 7.0 and 2014 Ludian 6.5 earthquakes. Compared to the technical solution used during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, assessment efficiency has increased by 300% and spatial resolution by two orders of magnitude.
