Key technology evolution
This standard proposes dynamic locking logic requirements for the special operating conditions of pumped-storage units (variable frequency starting/electrical braking/pumping and equalization) for the first time. Compared with the standards for conventional hydropower units, the following are added:
- The operating condition identification system needs to detect 7 operating states
- Category 7 protection needs to be configured with a frequency adaptive algorithm (10-65Hz)
- TA saturation protection requirements are increased to 1.2 times the rated current
Typical configuration scheme
Take the Tianhuangping Pumped Storage Power Station as an example, its generator motor protection adopts:
- Dualized longitudinal differential protection (including split-phase transverse differential)
- Injection type + third harmonic voltage grounding protection
- Demagnetization protection and out-of-step protection linkage locking
The main transformer protection configuration emphasizes the phase-changing switch locking mechanism to prevent false operation of the unit before it is connected to the grid.
