Introduction

Key points of the revision of the specification

Revision direction2003 versionNew content of the 2016 version
Monitoring technologyTraditional measurement methodsNewly added GNSS network design, sliding micrometer application
Instrument standardsDispersed regulationsUnified inspection and calibration methods and calculation formulas
Special monitoringPartial requirementsExplicitly cite DL/T 5416 and other 5 special standards

Monitoring system design principles

According to Article 3.0.1, the monitoring design of concrete dams must follow the "four synchronization" principles:

  1. Monitoring connection between construction period and operation period
  2. Compatibility of manual monitoring and automation system
  3. Redundant arrangement of key parts (such as ≥3 sets of crown beam measuring points)
  4. Instant re-testing mechanism for abnormal data

Comparison of typical monitoring schemes

Dam typeHorizontal displacement monitoringSeepage monitoring focusJoint monitoring requirements
Gravity dam Vertical line + tension line combination Dam foundation drainage corridor Transverse joint spacing ≤20m
Arch dam GNSS+vertical line network Arch seat replacement concrete area Must be set up in the middle of the irrigation area

Implementation points

Key indicators of instrument installation

  • Inverted hole Effective aperture ≥75mm (Article 6.3.2)
  • Tension line Height difference tolerance ±3mm (Article 6.3.3)
  • Vacuum laser system leakage rate <120Pa/h (Article 6.3.5)

Data collection specifications

Manual observation must meet the following requirements:

  • Vertical line/tension line backlash ≤0.15mm
  • Leveling measurement closure error ≤0.3√n mm
  • GNSS static measurement reaches Class B accuracy

Special monitoring requirements

Slope monitoring near the dam

According to Article 6.2.13:

  1. The spacing between the main monitoring sections is ≤100m
  2. Synchronous acquisition of three-dimensional coordinates of surface displacement points
  3. For deep deformation, sliding micrometers
  4. are preferred

Inspection standards

According to Chapter 4:

  • Once a day during the first water storage period
  • ≥ once a month during the operation period
  • Annual inspectionIncluding special inspections during the freezing period
