1 Scope

This standard specifies 3 testing methods for interlacing degree of synthetic filament yarns: Method A: manual needle-transfer method; Method B: manual heavy hammer method; Method C: instrument needle-transfer method.
This standard is applicable to synthetic filament yarns for textiles. Method A is primarily applicable to fully drawn yarns, Method B is primarily applicable to interlacing degree of stretch yarns while Method C is applicable to fully drawn yarn and interlacing degree of stretch yarn. In case of any dispute in testing result, Method A and Method B are adopted.

2 Normative References

The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding amending errors in the text), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest edition of the normative document is applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document applies.

3 Terminologies and Definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 4146 and those listed below apply.
3.1
Interlacing degree
The quantity of the non-dispersive interlaced knots with certain fastness per meter of yarn strip under specified load.
3.2
Stretch yarn
A general term of elastic yarns like the textured filament yarn, high-elasticity textured filament yarn and bulked continuous filament (BCF) which gain the interlacing degree after processing.
3.3
Extrication load
The minimum load imposed on the interlaced yarn strip to satisfy the interlacing degree requirements, cN.

4 Laboratory Sample and Specimen

4.1 Sampling
- Laboratory samples of spare parts are taken according to demand;
- Laboratory samples of batch samples are taken according to the requirements of GB/T 6502-2001.
Packages moistened, scratched or opened during transportation shall not be sampled.
4.2 Testing conditions
4.2.1 Standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing
4.2.1.1 For standard atmosphere used for laboratory sample conditioning, the secondary standard requirements of temperate standard atmosphere used for testing in GB 6529-1986 is adopted; the conditioning is carried out at least for 16h under temperature of (20±2)℃ and relative humidity of (65±3)%. Off-machine inspection may refer to the rapid conditioning specified in Appendix A.
4.2.1.2 For standard atmosphere used for laboratory sample testing, the secondary standard requirements of temperate standard atmosphere used for testing in GB 6529-1986 is adopted; the testing is carried out under temperature of (20±2)
