1 Scope

This standard specifies components, classification and grade, general technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, accompanied technical documents, transportation and storage of vehicle chassis security inspection systems based on imaging technology.

This standard is applicable to the vehicle chassis security inspection systems based on imaging technologies by video or scanning, and is the basis for the design, manufacture, acceptance and use of such systems.

This standard does not apply to hand-held vehicle chassis video inspection instrument.

3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations

3.1 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1.1

scanning equipment
the equipment that is exposed on the ground and used to scan vehicle chassis after vehicle chassis security inspection systems based on imaging technology are installed; generally, it is composed of components for vehicle chassis image capture, inductive lighting control, and so on

3.1.2

inductive lighting control
the vehicle chassis security inspection system based on imaging technology will automatically sense the vehicle passing over or leaving the scanning equipment, and then turn on or off the light source for illumination

3.1.3

automatic scanning
the way that the image capture component automatically starts and then scans the image of the vehicle chassis when a vehicle passes over the scanning equipment

3.1.4

component for license plate image capture
the camera and other components installed directly or laterally in the driving direction of vehicles, and used to capture images of license plate and vehicle appearance

3.1.5

license plate image capture
the way that the component for license plate image capture automatically starts and then captures images of license plate and vehicle appearance when a vehicle passes through the security inspection system

3.1.6

license plate image identification
the way that the security inspection system's software automatically identifies and extracts the license plate number when the component for license plate image capture starts working

3.1.7

field-of-view (FOV)
the field range that the component of vehicle chassis image capture views when a vehicle passes through the security inspection system

3.1.8

image capture rate
the ratio of vehicles passing through the security inspection system to vehicles from which the system has automatically captured and display images of chassis, license plates and vehicle appearance, when multiple vehicles pass through the system at a certain speed

3.1.9

dynamic spatial resolution of vehicle chassis image (DSR)
the spatial resolution ability of the vehicle chassis images captured by the system when a vehicle passes through at a certain speed

Note: In the actual test, the resolution is determined by the DSR test card images captured by the system when a vehicle passes at the speed of 25 km/h.

3.1.10

DSR test card
a testing device that is used for quantifying the DSRs of vehicle chassis security inspection systems based on imaging technology, and is composed of a plurality of aluminum ladder modules with different specifications fixed on a chassis plate

3.1.11

image auto-saving
the way that the system automatically creates folders according to the computer date, and then stores vehicle chassis images into the corresponding folder

3.1.12

reverse movement pattern
a test method by which a simulated vehicle chassis is fixed and the system is dragged move through a slide rail

3.2 Abbreviations

For the purposes of this document, the following abbreviations apply.

SR——spatial resolution of vehicle chassis image
