Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
| Classification | Clinical use | Flexural strength (MPa) | Solubility (μg/cm²) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class 1 | Anterior veneers/inlays | ≥50 | <100 |
| Class 5 | Restorations with more than four units | ≥800 | <100 |
Key technical changes
Main differences between the 2013 version and the 2025 version:
- New Shrinkage factor requirement (Clause 5.5), measurement accuracy ±0.002
- Relax the measurement range of linear expansion coefficient to 25-500℃ or 50-500℃
- Delete direct requirements for biocompatibility and quote ISO 10993-1
Material Performance Test Specifications
Comparison of Flexural Strength Test Methods
| Method | Specimen size (mm) | Span requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Three-point bending | 4×3×length | 12-40mm |
| Biaxial bending | Ø14×1.2 | Three-ball support |
Note: Type I ceramics require the preparation of 10-30 specimens, and the final grinding requires the use of 30-40μm diamond media
Clinical implementation recommendations
- When selecting the type of ceramic, the force requirements of the restoration should be matched (50MPa for anterior teeth vs 800MPa for posterior teeth)
- Note the shrinkage factor marking requirements for partially sintered ceramics (Clause 9.2.2c)
- Strictly follow the heat treatment procedure in accordance with Clause 8.1.3
Technology evolution analysis
This standard introduces the sintered yttrium-stabilized zirconia for the first time class=instrument>Hydrothermal stability evaluation scheme (Appendix C), it is recommended to accelerate aging by 134℃/0.2MPa autoclave for 10 hours, and observe the thickness of the monoclinic phase transition layer by combining XRD and SEM. Studies have shown that this condition is equivalent to an aging process of more than 5 years in the oral environment.
