Introduction

Standard background and scope of application

This standard is a mandatory safety specification for tempered glass and electrically heated glass used for ship portholes and rectangular windows. It puts forward systematic requirements for optical performance, mechanical strength and electrical safety in special marine environments. Technological evolution is mainly reflected in:

  • Material upgrade: citing GB 11614-2022 high-quality processing-grade glass raw material standard
  • Safety enhancement: adding insulation resistance (≥50MΩ) and dielectric strength (≤5mA) indicators for electrically heated glass
  • Process control: refining the quantitative judgment standard for heating uniformity defects

Comparison of key technical requirements

Performance indicators Electrically heated glass Ordinary tempered glass
Pressing strength Only load-bearing glass needs to meet this requirement (see Table 2) Mandatory requirements for all categories
Electrical safety Insulation resistance + dielectric strength double test Not applicable
Temperature uniformity ΔT≤10℃(5.5.1) Not applicable

Details of core test methods

Punch strength test

A graded loading mechanism is adopted, and the key parameters include:

  • Loading rate: 1000N/s constant speed
  • Holding time: Maintain for 5 seconds after reaching the target load
  • Device classification: Type A (≥250mm) and Type B (200-250mm) differentiated tests

Key points of electrical performance test

Case: Insulation resistance test
The resistance value between the heating wire and the frame of a certain type of electrically heated porthole glass was measured to be 82MΩ in an environment with a humidity of 80%, which is better than the standard requirement of 50MΩ. The test was conducted using a 1000V insulation resistance tester, and the 24h environmental balance requirement was strictly followed during pretreatment.

Implementation suggestions

  1. Material selection: High-quality float glass raw sheets are preferred to ensure processing-grade surface quality
  2. Process control: The packaging of the electric heating element needs to be vacuum degassing to avoid uneven heating
  3. Detection optimization: It is recommended to increase the regular calibration of the thermal imager to ensure the temperature measurement accuracy of ±0.2℃
