1. Background of standard formulation and analysis of technological evolution

Since its first release in 1990, the GB/T10593.2 standard has undergone multiple revisions, reflecting the continuous development of salt spray environmental testing technology. This revision focuses on improving the salt spray online monitoring method, adding new technologies such as dry film sampling, and optimizing the classification of salt spray environmental parameters.

  • Online monitoring equipment needs to be calibrated regularly to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • In high salt spray concentration environments, it is recommended to use an online monitoring method based on a silver nitrate spectrophotometer.

Precautions:

  • Before sampling, ensure that the absorption tube is clean to avoid interference with the test results.
  • When measuring the salt spray deposition rate, the data of the wet candle method and the dry film method cannot be directly compared, and must be converted with reference to GB/T19292.3.
  • Online monitoring equipment should be kept away from high dust environments to avoid affecting the test accuracy.
