Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

GB/T 11101-2020 is the third-generation national standard for cemented carbide round bar blanks, replacing the 2009 version of the standard. The main technological evolution is reflected in:

  • Delete the relevant clauses for micro-drilling of printed circuit boards and focus on the field of general cutting tools
  • Strengthen the physical and mechanical properties indicators, and clarify the requirements such as porosity ≤A02B00 and non-combined carbon C00
  • Optimize the dimensional tolerance system, and refine the diameter deviation classification from 5 to 6

Dimension tolerance system

Typical application case: The allowable deviation of the 6mm diameter bar is +0.30~+0.60mm. Compared with the 2009 version of the standard, the upper limit is tightened by 0.05mm, which is more suitable for precision tool processing.

  1. Marking rules should be clearly defined during procurement (such as B3.5×38.5)
  2. Focus on monitoring the straightness index, and the tolerance of the 350mm length segment is adjusted from 0.8mm to 1.2mm
  3. It is recommended to increase the factory inspection of η phase content
