Introduction

GBT11297.11-2015 Standard Overview

GB/T11297.11-2015 "Test Method for Dielectric Constant of Pyroelectric Materials" replaces the previous GB/T11297.11-1989. The main updates include applicable frequency range, test atmospheric conditions, sample size and requirements, etc.

Standard Development Background

Pyroelectric materials are widely used in electronics, communications and other fields. With the advancement of technology, there is an urgent need to improve material performance. This standard revision aims to meet the testing needs of new materials and optimize test accuracy and operation procedures.

Old version requirements New version requirements Improvements
Frequency range: 100Hz~1MHz Frequency range: 100Hz~100kHz Adjust the applicable scope to focus more on mid- and low-frequency characteristics
Atmospheric conditions are not clear Temperature: 15℃~35℃
Relative humidity: 25%~75%
Add arbitration test conditions to ensure consistency of results
Specimen size: not clear Area: 10mm²~50mm²
Thickness: 0.1mm~1.0mm
Refine the requirements and improve the test accuracy

Term explanation and practical application

Pyroelectric material: refers to a material with pyroelectric effect, whose dielectric constant changes with temperature. For example: Lead titanate, Lead zirconate titanate, etc.

LCR meter: is used to measure inductance (L), capacitance (C) and resistance (R), and is the key equipment used to test dielectric constant in this standard.

Implementation suggestions

  • Sample preparation: Ensure that the sample size and surface flatness meet the requirements. It is recommended to use a micrometer to measure the thickness.
  • Test environment control: Maintain constant temperature (25℃±2℃) and relative humidity at 25%~75% to ensure data accuracy.
  • Instrument calibration: Regularly calibrate the LCR meter, especially the capacitance measurement accuracy requirement to reach ±0.05%.
