Technology Evolution Analysis

The main technical changes in the 2017 version of the standard include:

  • Added a new Compressor Characteristics test chapter (Chapter 19)
  • Optimized the radiated power measurement method and introduced the LRTS site
  • Updated the adjacent channel power measurement method and added a digital spectrum analyzer solution
  • Revised the intermodulation conversion loss test process

Test Site Selection Guide

The standard recommends three test sites:

  1. Open Area Test Site (OATS): Applicable to 100MHz-1GHz, pay attention to the influence of ground reflection
  2. Low Reflection Test Site (LRTS): Use absorbing materials to suppress reflection, and the measurement repeatability is higher
  3. Anechoic chamber (AC): fully shielded environment, suitable for precision measurement

Typical 3m test site attenuation range: 32-58dB (at 1GHz)


Implementation suggestions

Key points:

  • Battery-powered equipment needs to adjust the test voltage according to Table 1
  • The radiation measurement scheme in Appendix A should be used for self-assembled antenna equipment
  • When measuring adjacent channel power, the resolution bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer should meet the following requirements:
    Specified bandwidth/200 ≤ R ≤ specified bandwidth/40
