《GB/T 1243-1997短节距传动用精密滚子链和链轮》由TC164（全国链传动标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国机械工业联合会。
本标准规定了短节距传动用精密滚子链和链轮的结构形式、尺寸、公差、长度测量、预拉载荷及最小抗拉载荷等。本标准适用于机械传动和类似应用的单排和多排结构节距精密滚子链及其配用的链轮。本标准适用于自行车、摩托车和短节距传动用精密套筒链链轮，但不适用于自行车和摩托车链条。它们已分别列入GB3579与GB/T14212中。

1 Scope
This standard specifies requirements for short pitch transmission precision roller chains and chain wheels. It covers construction types, dimensions, tolerances, length measurement, pretension loads and minimum tensile strengths.
This standard applies to short-pitch precision roller chains of simple and multiplex construction suitable for the mechanical transmission of power and allied applications, together with those for their associated chain wheels.
Although it applies to short-pitch transmission precision bush chain wheels for cycles and motor cycles, it does not apply to chains for cycles or for motor cycles, which are covered by GB 3579 and GB/T 14212 respectively.
